When fall comes around, your first instinct might be to get cozy under the covers and start your winter hibernation–but there’s still so much to explore and do before it gets too cold to leave the house! From visiting a pumpkin patch to exploring a haunted house, take advantage of this beautiful season with these 8 activities you can do with the whole family, with the added perk of getting active and outside too! 

Going on a Hike

What better way to get into the fall frame of mind than a simple hike with some friends? If you live in a big city, it can be hard to get into the pumpkin spice vibe in the concrete jungle. Get out of the city and go on a beautiful hike to take advantage of all the fabulous fall foliage.

Hiking is a super great exercise–for the body and the soul–by improving your cardio, your heart health, and strengthening your core balance. Plus, there’s nothing more satisfying than a vigorous hike with some friends and a great view waiting for you at the top!

Go to a “Haunted” House

Looking for something to raise your heart rate? Look no further than a good old haunted house! There’s nothing like a good scare to get pumped up, and walking through a huge haunted house where you don’t know what’s waiting for you around the corner can be a great way to form some new bonds (and burn some extra calories!). Whether you close your eyes and speed run the maze, or take it slowly and let the anticipation thrill you, it’s a great way to get into the Halloween spirit.

If haunted houses isn’t your vibe, consider grabbing a few friends for a chill day exploring a corn maze! Get some movement and walking in while getting lost in a huge maze, and if you want to race a friend to the end, that’s an even better workout.
